Retain your Qualtrics survey URLs

When your surveys are imported into the new system and activated, they will display under a different web address / URL. If you have integrations with systems such as Sona, Pavlovia, MTurk or Prolific for example – you’ll need to update the Qualtrics URLs accordingly.

Qualtrics migrated users

If your surveys have been migrated across by Qualtrics, then links should automatically have aliases set up from the old address to the new address. If you have any concerns about a particular URL being retained, please let Qualtrics Support know.

Self migrating users

If you’re migrating your own surveys, but need to retain a particular URL (for example if the link has been included in printed materials), and needs to be active for longer, you must submit a support request to Qualtrics Support.

  1. Log onto your new account at https://universityofkent.qualtrics.com/  
  2. Click on the question mark XM Support icon in the top right corner: 
  3. Click Contact Support 
  4. If prompted, click on the University of Kent Uni wide option. 
  5. Click Get Technical Support > Survey Platform > Email 
  6. In the CC field, add fg30@kent.ac.uk as Brand Administrator 
  7. In the subject line, add: Copy old survey and retain old URL and click Next 
  8. In Survey Link and What section are you working in, just put N/A
  9. Note down your NEW USERNAME and OLD USERNAME, ready for the support message.
  10. In detailed description of issue, please add your request: Here’s a sample request which you can copy and tweak:

    Dear Qualtrics Support,

    I have a survey on my old account at
    <OLD QUALTRICS LOGIN LINK>
    Survey link:  <OLD SURVEY URL HERE>
    Old account username: <USERNAME FROM OLD ACCOUNT>

    I need to migrate this survey into my new account, but retain the old URL, as it has been included in printed materials and is still active for a period of time.

    Could you please help me copy this over to my new account at https://universityofkent.qualtrics.com/ under the username of <USERNAME FROM NEW ACCOUNT>, so that it can still continue to be ran under the old address.

    Our Brand Administrator has been CC’d to oversee and give permission for this copy (in case it’s needed).
