Stronger Student Voice
- Across all subjects in the School of Engineering, Maths and Physics, we run formal Student Voice Forums with your Student Reps and with academic leads for your subject.
- Now, to ensure you have the right opportunities to feedback on your course and help shape your overall learning experience, we are also running informal Student Voice Forums each term.
Knowledge and skills for your future
- In Maths, project work is now better aligned with industry expectations.
- In Actuarial Science, we now have fewer paper-based exams and more PC-based assessment to better align with workplace practices.
- In Engineering and also in Digital Design, we are providing more exposure to and
learning from industrial practitioners through guest speaker sessions.
- In Physics, we have introduced more hands-on
use of telescope data and facilities for astronomy students to improve
practical experience and employability.
Academic support
- In Engineering, we now have enhanced demonstrator training and the involvement of recent graduates as demonstrators, providing more relatable and effective academic support.
- In Digital Design, the weekly Digital Design Club and further support-focused elements integrated into module delivery now allow greater 1-to-1 support for assessed work.
- In Physics, we have introduced standardised revision sessions for all exams to ensure students know how to prepare.
- In both Maths and Actuarial Science, we now provide you with more detailed assessment briefs to give you greater clarity on expectations and requirements to support you to better demonstrate your learning.
