Consent. Get it. Full Stop. Why every student should take the Consent Training

Consent training

At Kent, we’re proud to be part of a community that values respect, safety and support. But creating a truly inclusive and safe campus takes all of us and that starts with understanding consent.

That’s why the University encourages students to complete the Consent Training as part of its wider campaign: Consent. Get it. Full Stop. This isn’t just another online module, it’s a powerful step toward building a culture where everyone feels safe, heard and respected.

So, what is it?

The Consent Training is designed to help students:

  • Understand what consent really means in everyday situations.
  • Recognise and challenge harmful behaviours.
  • Learn how to support peers and contribute to a respectful campus culture.

It’s part of the University’s pledge to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct and harassment.

Why should you complete it?

  • Because everyone deserves to feel safe. Whether it’s in halls, at a party or in a seminar, we all have a role in creating a respectful environment.
  • Because knowledge is power. The training gives you the tools to understand boundaries, communicate clearly and support others.
  • Because it shows you care. Taking the training is a simple but meaningful way to stand up for your community.

What else is happening at Kent?

The University has a clear and transparent approach to tackling sexual misconduct and harassment. Through the Report + Support platform, students can access help, report incidents and learn more about their options. There’s also a wide range of support available, both within the University and externally, so no one has to face anything alone.

Let’s make Kent the safest it can be

Taking the Consent Training is a small action with a big impact. It’s about respect, responsibility and making sure our campus is a place where everyone can thrive.

Ready to take the training? Head to the Consent Training for Students module in Moodle. It takes about 20 minutes to complete.
