Join ResLife and FairShare in the Gleaning Project: A Unique Volunteer Opportunity
ResLife is thrilled to announce our partnership with FairShare to participate in their impactful Gleaning Project. Gleaning involves rescuing surplus produce that farmers cannot harvest, which would otherwise be left to rot in the fields. This fresh produce is collected by volunteers and delivered to local food banks, supporting individuals and families facing financial challenges.
This initiative not only benefits our community by providing fresh food to those in need but also plays a vital role in reducing food waste. We invite students to join us as volunteers in this rewarding project.
Volunteer sessions are typically held on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, although other days may be scheduled as well. If you’re interested in making a difference and contributing to this valuable cause, please email us at rlateam@kent.ac.uk. We will reach out with further details once farm visit dates are confirmed.
