1. Ensure you get a good induction and complete your first week email response
When you start your Year in Industry, your employer must give you a good induction and ensure you are aware of any policies and procedures. We will send you an email during your first week which will contain a link to a form for you to complete, ensuring we have the most relevant details to keep in contact with you.
2. Keep in touch
We will send you monthly check-ins to report back - make sure you send these back, if you do not respond we will think there is something wrong! We will also meet with you virtually at the 3 month and 6 month point.
3. Ensure you re-enroll
While you are on your Year in Industry, you will maintain your student status and as in your previous years, you will need to re-enrol ready for your return to campus.
4. Remember we are here to help!
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us, and we will be able to support you or signpost you to the right department.
5. Keep on top of your assessment requirements
Your Year in Industry or Year in Professional Practice comes with a form of assessment. You would have been briefed on this assessment prior to going out on placement but we are still her to support you if you need it. Even if your assessment does not require you to diarise your experience, you may find this useful for personal reflection later on.
