How to apply

For full details, take a look at our Returning Student blog post to learn how to apply for accommodation.

Applying as a group?

If you would like to share accommodation with your friends, please follow the steps below when filling out your application.

1. Find your group!

To apply as a group, you must either fill an entire house/flat or occupy no more than 50% of it. All rooms are subject to availability, and groups may be split, meaning you could be placed with students outside your group.

2. Appointing a group leader

You will need to appoint a group leader within your group. The leader will be responsible for creating the group, submitting the initial application, adding members, and selecting accommodation preferences on behalf of the whole group.

3. Creating Application

The group leader must create the group application using “Create a group application”, add members, and select accommodation preferences. They must include each member’s first name, surname, and email address (ensure emails are entered correctly).

4. Joining Group Application

Each group member must submit their own application using the “Join a group” option. You will receive an automated email with the group code once the group leader has submitted the group application.

5. Submitting applications

Applications submitted without the group code will not be linked to your group. If this happens, edit your application to add the correct code. Apply as soon as possible after receiving the code, as availability is limited.

Forgotten your login?

You'll need this for your application, but don't worry. If you forget your password or username, you can easily find it and reset your password using the MyAccommodation on-screen instructions. Just have your student ID number ready, which you can find on your KentOne card or any emails from the University if needed.

You've applied but what's next?

We will start sending offers out in April. Once you receive your room offer from us, you can log in to your account and accept it for 2026!

You must accept or decline your offer before the expiry date. However, you can cancel your accommodation application at any time before accepting the offer. Once you accept, you'll be agreeing to the usual terms and conditions.

That's it, your room is secured!

Take a moment to relax and celebrate, knowing your accommodation is sorted for next year.
