If you are seeking an interesting and relevant work experience placement to gain valuable experience in the world of work, we offer several work experience placements each year to school students in years 12 and 13.
Placements are available between February and July each year, and are usually one week long.
Working alongside our teams, you’ll have the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience within the Library and IT sector.
You will be assigned a mentor for the week who will be available to support you with any queries you have and act as a point of contact.
At the end of your placement, you’ll have an opportunity to feedback to your mentor on your work experience placement.

Whether you are interested in gaining transferable skills such as customer services, content creation or IT support, Or eager to immerse yourself in more distinctive areas of work - there are lots of options to explore.
There are several volunteer opportunities aligned to our collections development work. Contact SC&A for what is currently on offer.
Limited placements available for students on specific taught programmes where work experience is compulsory. Check with course tutors for eligibility.
Keep an eye on jobshop as we frequently advertise for students to apply for Support Analyst roles within our IT & Library Support team (Helpdesk).
We appoint a number of Student Content Creators on fixed term 'Empower' internships to create engaging digital content for our social channels.
The Student Shapers Programme is a flexible co-curricular initiative that empowers students to collaborate on projects focused on enhancing their campus spaces (study and recreational) and improving our Library and IT services and support.
As co-creators, students will drive improvements that directly impact their campus experience
