Enhance: The Work Experience Development Programme

Enhance

The Work Experience Development Programme delivered by Careers, Employability and Skills.

What does Enhance involve?

The Enhance programme lasts for one term and offers:

  • 1-1 appointments with an experienced Employability and Placements Adviser.
  • Small-group workshops designed to meet the needs of each cohort.
  • Practice interview opportunities.
  • Reflection activities.
  • Individual feedback on applications for work experience.

We hope that all students on the programme will apply to at least one work opportunity, and that the majority of these applications will be successful. Unfortunately, however, we cannot guarantee that everyone will get work experience.

The programme concludes with the Digital Project Showcase – an opportunity for all participants to share text/images/video summarising what they gained from taking part.

Who can apply?

Each programme is aimed at a different cohort:

  • The Autumn programme is for first- and second-year undergraduate students from Computing, Engineering, Maths, Physics, Natural Sciences and KBS.
  • The Spring programme is for first- and second-year undergraduate students from Psychology, Social Sciences, Arts and Architecture, Humanities and Law.

It is primarily aimed at students who have not completed any work experience before, but those with some prior work experience can still apply.

How do I apply?

The application process involves completing a short online form asking for your motivations and goals. Applications for Autumn 2026 will open in September 2026.
