Bringing together resources and expertise across the University of Kent and beyond, to support students from underrepresented backgrounds in developing confidence, identifying their skills and understanding recruitment processes.

Empower

Empower is open to students from underrepresented and marginalised groups* (most commonly those who were in receipt of free school meals, or are first in their family to attend university, and disabled students).

  • A chance to reflect on your skills and identify ways to strengthen these
  • Access to personalised support in areas such as disability and finding inclusive employment


*University of Kent (Home) students who are classified as TUNDRA Quintile 1.

    Empower Bursary

    Eligible students can apply for up to £200 to fund a skills development course, travel costs for attending an interview or assessment centre, or to support them with volunteering work. Book an Empower appointment to find out more.
