Student Support and Wellbeing have a team of specialist staff providing practical support and advice to students who have experienced sexual violence, stalking, hate incidents, discrimination, physical harm and or verbal abuse, domestic abuse, spiking, and harassment.
On this page, you can find out how to report any kind of incident.
There is also further information and specific guidance on Sexual Assault and Harassment and Discrimination, Bullying and Hate Incidents.
REPORT + SUPPORT
REPORT + SUPPORT is our online platform where you can report an incident and get follow-up support.
- Worried about repercussions from the perpetrator of the incident? Reporting an incident and getting support from a Specialist Wellbeing Adviser doesn't automatically mean that the perpetrator and/or the police will be contacted, although you can get help with next steps if you wish to escalate the issue.
- Seen/heard about something that happened to someone else? You can use the anonymous reporting tool to report something that happened to someone else - this will help make the University a safer place for other students.
Next steps
You are able to get support from the Specialist Wellbeing Team about any next steps that you would like to take. You are able to report the incident formally. These options can include:
- Making a formal complaint to the University via Student Conduct and Complaints Office.
- You can also discuss reporting the crime to the Police. If there is no risk to life, you can call 101 (Police 101 website).
There
is no obligation to report, and the Specialist Wellbeing team can
provide support regardless of reporting.
