Office and social spaces for PGR students

There are a wide range of postgraduate research study and social spaces available across campus to provide space for you to study, engage in academic discussion as well as social interaction.

What space is currently available to you as a PhD/M-Res Student?

Study Hubs

A number of study hubs are available on campus for all students to use. The Postgraduate Study Hub can be located in the Senate building [map]. It offers 14 PCs with 25 additional desks to work at with your own device. There are also 6 individual carrels, and 2 double carrels for collaborative work. It is open 24/7 for postgraduates with ID card access.  Wheelchair access is available: take the lift to the first floor. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

Library study rooms

The Library has a number of individual study rooms you can rent on a monthly basis. Each room is lockable and has a desk, chair and lamp. See all library spaces.

Meeting rooms

All PGR students have the option to book meeting rooms and private offices by inviting the room to your diary via Outlook calendar.

Campus Lounges

You are welcome to make use of our Campus Lounges, which are open to students and staff, as a place to relax and hang out. Many have kitchen amenities like microwaves and hot water, so you can heat up your food or make yourself a hot drink.
