Improving the International Student Experience
Our International Student Advisory Board works in collaboration with Kent Students' Union to ensure that the needs and voices of our international students are heard.
The purpose of this Board is:
- To inform the inclusivity and accessibility of university-wide services and policies at both the University and Kent Students' Union, for the benefit of all international students at the University of Kent.
- To provide feedback mechanisms to allow international students to actively contribute towards campaigns, awareness raising and submit suggestions for policy change.
- To support internationally focused activities and events such as, Welcome week, Annual Cultural Celebration Week and International Education Week.

To become a member of the Board, there is an open round of applications followed by a short interview. Applications are now open and will close on Monday 19th October. Click here to apply.
The Board has a student membership of up to 35 including representatives from Foundation, Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Research, and from a range of nationalities to ensure a fair representation across the university's demographic.
Yes, there will be a range of training provided including how to chair a meeting, negotiating skills, public speaking, event management, and setting goals.
There will be a minimum of two meetings each term, plus relevant training. Each meeting will be 2 hours and are currently planned for 5 November 3-5pm (Induction/Meeting 1); 12 November 4-6pm (Meeting 2); 27 January 4-6pm (Meeting 3); 3 March 4-6pm (Meeting 4); 28 April 4-6pm (Meeting 5); 2 June 4-6pm (Meeting 6).
Duties will include participating in discussions during meetings, completing feedback surveys, negotiating with colleagues / teams from across the university and Kent Students' Union who provide services to international students as well as produce awareness campaigns if required.
