Help with food

If you can demonstrate that you have no available funds in your bank accounts to purchase essential food, we may be able to provide you with supermarket food vouchers.

You can apply for support throughout the academic year. The total amount of food voucher support available to an individual student is capped at £300.

Help with medication

We recognise that, in some circumstances, students may need essential medication but be unable to afford the cost.

Where you can demonstrate that you do not have sufficient funds to pay for essential medication, we may be able to arrange payment towards the cost of the medication.

How to apply

If you are struggling to afford food or essential medication, please contact the Student Welfare team (studentwelfare@kent.ac.uk). We will discuss your circumstances with you and explain what evidence you need to provide.

Support is intended for students experiencing immediate financial hardship, so please contact us if you are struggling to meet these essential costs.
