Work experience is a valuable part of your career journey. It's a great way to apply what you have learned on your course or through co-curricular experiences in real-life situations. The projects are a platform for you to use your skills whilst learning new ones. You can enhance your confidence and take that first step towards securing more career opportunities for yourself.
The projects are also worth employability points which can lead to further opportunities for you whilst you are at University and help your CV Stand out.
There are a range of opportunities available for you to apply for. You do not have to be a student from a specific course to apply for them either, you are welcome to apply for any of the projects.

This scheme is open for current students who are studying at The University of Kent.
You can view all the opportunities now in our opportunities pack but the application window will open on the 23rd September 2024 and close on the 6th October 2024.
You will need to complete a short application form to showcase your suitability, skills and experiences.
You must apply before 23:59 on the 6th October 2024.

Once the application deadline closes, the Student Impact team will review these applications and determine the most suitable candidate for each role. The successful applicants will be informed on the week commencing 14th October 2024 and will be e-introduced to the organisation offering the opportunity.
These work experience opportunities will be undertaken part-time, alongside your studies, at the end of Term One or the start of Term Two. The roles are unpaid and you will not work beyond 40 hours for the duration of the whole project.
If you complete the work experience opportunity you will receive 30 Employability Points.
You can always use the services available from the Careers and Employability Service for this application. A Quick Advise session with an Employability Adviser would probably be suitable if you feel you need support with the application.
