Open Access and funder requirements
The University and an increasing number of funders require certain outputs to be open access as a condition of their support.
- Read the University's Research Publications Policy.
- Use the JISC Open Policy Finder to check funders’ requirements on Open Access, publication and data archiving.
- See our guide on Research England’s Open Access requirements for the REF and use our REF Assisted Deposit Service to help you comply.
The following funders have a preference for immediate Open Access:
- NIHR
- Wellcome Trust
- UKRI
- Cancer Research UK
- European Research Council (ERC)
- Horizon 2020 (European Commission)
