Sid has made a positive impact on our LGBTQ+ community by being involved in the LGBTQIA+ Student Voices project, chairing the LGBTQ+ Student Network and helping with projects to make our campuses more inclusive.
Music Performance Scholar Heather is a unique student, balancing her studies with performing and teaching folk music, as well as excelling in hockey and other sports. A perhaps unlikely pairing of passions, but she makes it work harmoniously!
As Accessibility Network Chair, Gabby has learned to advocate for herself and others, helping change policy to improve the way access problems are reported and managed across campus.
Thank you to our wonderful student helpers who gave up their time over Arrivals Weekend so they could welcome our new international students at Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
The Medway Music Society won Society of the Year at the 2024 Medway Activities Awards. They won for transforming the society, and running successful events that would often get up to 70 students attending.
Sakina, Harry and Cassie were recently selected to take part in the Model NATO event in London, experiencing how countries manage their responses to world events and the many challenges this brings.
The Sustainability Working Group recently won a Climate Action Award for their sustainability initiatives. These include climate café events, the plant-based loyalty card on campus and the Kent BioBlitz event.
Jarman Jam are a group of Arts students, ranging from first year to postgraduate, who run a bi-termly creative showcase for students to share their artistic works. These events help to build a fun and supportive creative community.
